What is transecology?
As a political project and theory, transecology has sought to build alliances and undermine hierarchies, deconstructing categories and bringing together queers, the more-than-human, abolition, indigenous sovereignty, and more under one framework.
The Tenderloin, with its complex history of queer and trans militancy, settler colonial violence, gentrification attempts, and police control, brings to bear all of transecology’s possibilities and obstacles.
This teach-in/discussion breaks down concepts from transecology and Marxist feminism, inviting participants of any background to struggle through the question of how to resist cooptation, assimilation, and division, while practicing transecology and class politics in the Tenderloin.
Hosted by 1for1 cooperative members Chandra and Muffy.
